In what year did the Kennedy half dollar begin to be made of clad copper instead of silver?

The last 90% silver quarter made for circulation was 1964 same with the Kennedy 1/2, from 1965 to 1970 the 1/2 dollar was a 40% silver clad coin. they did not do the quarter in silver clad as a circulation coin. Special 1976 quarters and 1/2 dollars were 40% clad but they had to be bought at the mint at a premium. Hope this answers your question
